Neurofeedback based professional organizations, including ISNR and AAPB, encourage their clinical members to become board certified by BCIA. Professionals practicing neurofeedback training, or planning to practice neurofeedback training, are often interested in becoming BCIA Board Certified. One of the requirements to become BCIA Certified is to participate in 25 hours of mentoring in neurofeedback.

The act of mentoring professionals in neurofeedback is a complex task that requires the mentor to, teach, guide, encourage, and support the mentee in a variety of skills, knowledge, and the associated standards of care, ethical practices, challenges to our profession, and the rights and responsibilities of those persons seeking our services. Some mentees will have clinical experience doing neurofeedback while others have not even acquired the equipment to pursue learning about neurofeedback. Thus, some mentees will have a year or years of doing neurofeedback while others have little to no neurofeedback training experience.

The focus of this webinar is to provide attendees with an overview of the BCIA mentoring process, including the importance of addressing professional ethics and standards of practice, use of equipment, understanding QEEG, how to conduct a neurofeedback session, and how to determine the efficacy of a neurofeedback session, with BCIA mentees.

Who is the Audience:
